I did a little research on ANSI and learned that it contains more characters than standard MUD text. I'm interested in replacing my ansi title screen, but isn't it a helpfile? Therefore, doesn't it have a help file extension and not the .ANS extension that ANSI art files are supposed to have?

Secondly, if I use an ANSI art tool to create a .ANS file, how would I replace the ansi title with it?

You could generate the greeting you want, and open it in an editor. Copy and paste into the help.are file in the appropriate place (ie. the lines above). Make sure you leave in the trailing ~ symbol which indicates the end of the text.

Nope, that's the greeting screen. I believe the ANSI screen can't be edited from online. It's sort of a secondary log-in screen that everyone sees, usually with excess color and special ANSI characters.

The other one? It's the files in the /system/ directory. There are 3 of them. One for RIP, one for ANSI, and one for neither. Should be pretty easy to spot.
