It obviously says there is no mobile, but there should be that one in the file. This is the original area of newacad.are nothing has been modded or edited. Can anyone help fix this problem? Thanks | | Top |

| | Have you edited you read/writing at all? If you have, that will will most likely be the problem. The other option is to check try booting it in gdb and bt it, but you may need to change called from exit to abort for the backtrace to work. |

| | You said it crashed during foldarea, so I'd open up build.c and scour the fold_area() function for the problem. When it crashes during a file write, the resulting file was never completed, and thus the data will be corrupted. This is why it will no longer load - the file is missing the rest of the data it should have. | | Top |

| | actually, i wasn't as specific as i could be i guess. It crashes on a copyover after foldarea. Copyovers are fine but then BOOM after a folda xxxxxx.are it shutsdown. When i looked at the stack it gave me nothing. Just a bunch of ??? marks. Any new ideas? | | Top |

| If the stack is a bunch of ???, then you probably aren't targetting the binary file properly. If your core is in /area, from area you want:
gdb ../src/smaug -c core
You may not need the -c, but it can't hurt. |
