Dont know if anyone has this problem or anything... but i use smaugfuss 1.6 for cygwin on a windows 98 machine... and when people disconnect from quit and such... it doesn't actually disconnect them... its kinda weird. anyone have any idea on it?

I suspect it has to do with running it under Cygwin/Windows. Does it make them quit? Or are they still on?

They leave the game but the connection to the server doesn't really drop.

Just thought I'd chime in. I've seen the same thing with out of the box FUSS 1.6 and many other SMAUG's (Mudworld's 1.5, original 1.4a, Nick's version on this site...). I definitely think this must be a cygwin issue or something, but I've never looked too carefully at it. As it happens in all the other bases I try, it obviously isn't a result of anything I've done. Strange nonetheless. But anyway you're definitely not the only person whose seen this behavior.

Further, this problem seems to be specific to Win9x systems running Cygwin since I've tested against Win2K and WinXP and never had issues with quitting and not having the connection actually drop.
