I've come across an issue where the MUSHclient isn't reconnecting as I"m assuming its supposed too. Generally what occurs is the mud will crash and I'll get a message similar too this: --- Disconnected on Sunday, March 04, 2007, 1:17 AM ---

Then, it just sits there until I manually reconnect it. Is there a way to make it try and reconnect after this occurs? I've also noticed that if the mud is down and I try to reconnect it will fail once then not try again until I again, manually try to reconnect. Is there a way to also solve this problem?

Basically what I'm looking for is that when the mud crashes the client automatically tries to reconnect over and over until the server is back up and it can.

It is supposed to, if you set the appropriate option. See File menu -> Global Preferences -> General -> Reconnect on Disconnect.

Also there is a Reconnector plugin, see:

This plugin tries repeatedly to reconnect.

Yeah I actually just found the plugin page, I suppose I should have researched a bit more before posting. I installed the plugin and tested disconnecting and it reconnects so that works. I'll have to wait until the mud crashes to find out if it'll keep trying to reconnect the way I want it too.

Thanks for the quick response though. Oh, and also, the auto reconnect in the program itself wasn't working at all.

If this is right after the mud reboots, then it probably tries once. If it can't connect because the server has not come back online yet, it doesn't try again. This is why there was a plugin made to repeatedly try and connect.

It is much easier to fight for one's ideals than to live up to them.
