what exactly is an EOF error?

and how can i determine where this EOF error is, it could be in any one of my races?

Thu Feb 26 12:06:22 2004 :: Loading races
Thu Feb 26 12:06:22 2004 :: [*****] BUG: fread_word: EOF encountered on read.

and:

Thu Feb 26 12:12:49 2004 :: Sam@localhost new Angles Druid.
(then hits x)
Thu Feb 26 12:13:42 2004 :: EOF encountered on read.

EOF means End Of File, I think. Your second message means that person went linkdead. Try looking over your race files. One of the lines probably has an error, or mistype.

You might have to use gdb to put a breakpoint on the bug routine, then "bt" to find exactly what file was causing it.
