This is something that I've noticed has been in for a long time, and has never been fixed, so either it doesn't bother anybody else or it's how it was designed or something. I notice with aliases, no matter what the send to field is, even it it has nothing to do with the output window, every time an alias is executed it unpauses the output window. Even if it's set to send to clipboard or status bar or anything else that's not output, it /still/ unpauses the window, is there any settings that I'm missing to prevent this, or is it just a bug?

There is an option in Output configuration "un-pause on send". If you uncheck that, then the auto unpausing won't happen at all.

It appears that, with that option set, any command (whether or not it calls an alias) will unpause the output, which is possibly a bug. I suppose it depends on how you define "send".

Shouldn't it be somewhere around the code for OnPluginSent()? If you type a command that causes something to be sent to the game, then unpause the output... Even then it's good to know so I can turn it off, as with the current output window plugin, I can carry on conversations while reading scrollback. Also if you have a plugin to transmit information from the client to the game.

I am a bit reluctant to change something a lot of people are used to.

You however could turn that option off, and then make a tiny plugin that detects (in OnPluginSent) that something has actually been sent, and turn pause mode off:
