since 4.39 the script file just recompiles automatically when it's been changed.

Also, I've only seen this once, but I strangely got an error that the functions in my script file weren't there when the triggers tried to hook in to them (when initially opening the world)

Is this an option somewhere? I find that I'm still hitting ctrl+shift+r a few times just to be sure that the file is recompiled. I miss the message box that the script file has changed. :)

Is this intentional, or did the memory leak fix start causing the lua engine to restart/recompile a lot?

No, there is no new "recompile a lot" feature. :)

There is an option in the scripting configuration box, and has been for a long time. "Recompile when script file changes:".

Make sure that is set to what you want.

I don't know how that got changed from "confirm" to "always" in the dropdown...
