I have the hosting, but I'm not sure if I have to create the server for it or if I can just upload one to it. So basicly I'm new to everything and need some pointers. Can anyone help?

You can upload an existing server easily enough. SmaugFUSS is pretty stable these days, see: http://www.smaugmuds.org/

Your subject said "Help with Creating a MUD" - more detail might have helped.

I don't know of any precompiled MUCKs, but there are probably some around.

Try http://ftpgame.org/ - that tends to be a site where a lot of the code for various servers is released, probably only in source form.

You would need to get an appropriate server source to your host site, and compile it.

If you have no idea about compiling, fixing error messages, using Unix etc. you may find that rather challenging.

You could initially try using Cygwin and get the general hang of it on your home PC, before doing a lot of mucking around uploading files, and trying to work at a remote site.

See: http://www.gammon.com.au/smaug/howtocompile.htm
