Ever since 3.63, MUSHclient doesn't seem to honor the "show tips at startup" toggle. After unchecking the box, I still receive "tip of the day" with new instances of the program... applies also to 3.65.

I have no problem with this. I never have, it's always worked correctly.

I'm sure that value gets stored in the registry. For some reason it probably isn't being changed. You could go in and manually change it as a workaround for the time being.

I see this bug, too, on at least three PCs that I now use MUSHclient on. Changing the Startup flag under Tip had no effect on whether they popped up or not. It did, however, change the state of the check box. Seems to be a missing check for the state of the flag in the software before displaying the Tip of the Day.

I'm experiencing this bug, too, with 3.66. Checking and unchecking the box on the Tip of the Day window toggles the registry key MUSHClient/Tips/StartUp, but no matter what the checkbox's state, the tip window shows. (3.66 was the first version installed on this installation of Windows.)

I'm not sure why some people have this problem and some don't. I personally never have, and I've used dozens of computers with MUSHclient. What OS are you using? Do you have admin rights?

I've had no problems using:
Windows XP SP 2
Windows 98
Windows XP SP 1
Windows XP (no SP)
Windows 95

Of the above, I have only tried no admin rights with XP SP 2.

I use Windows XP Pro SP2 on several machines, with admin rights on all. The problem seems to have gone away now, so it may have been a side effect of some other change that has now been corrected.

Huh, now I have this issue. It's a WinXP Pro machine, full admin rights, and even though show tips is unchecked it still comes up on startup. Very odd.
