I have discovered that when an ANSI-colored word leads off a line of text (especially if wrapped by MUSHClient) that color does not turn off, but carries over to the entire remaining paragraph of text. I have tested this with a few other clients, and the code is correct, but MUSHClient mis-displays this for some reason.

Go to File -> Global Preferences -> General and uncheck "Bleed background colour to edge".

That will fix it.
