When I'm on my mud and ocreate an item add whatever stats and affects and flags and the like that I want to it, then reboot the mud. Poof it's gone. I've tried doing instazone on the area, savearea, foldarea, i made sure the vnums don't belong to anything else, but there's gotta be something I'm doing wrong or a known bug of some sort that I don't have a fix for. If anyone can help me out on this I'll love you forever.

PS. I can make equipment in an area editor and make it reset into one of my areas on the ground or a mob, but that's just a hassle unless you're actually making an area, but it's no good to do that everytime you wan't to make an item.

Can you post the exact sequence of commands that you tried so we can try it? Do a copy and paste from the screen so we can see what you actually did.

I've tried about 10 different way, with savarea, without it, with instazone, without it, with foldarea, without...etc. I'm just assuming there's some glaring mistake that I'm not noticing.

I'm not a big expert in object creation, but I think I see one big problem. You created an object with vnum 250, but saved newdark.are. That object is not in newdark.are. See "zones" command ...


newacad.are    | Rooms: 10300 - 10499 Objs: 10300 - 10499 Mobs: 10300 - 10499
newdark.are    | Rooms: 21000 - 21499 Objs: 21000 - 21435 Mobs: 21000 - 21499
gallery.are    | Rooms: 24800 - 24899 Objs: 24800 - 24899 Mobs: 24800 - 24899


The object would need to be in the object range of 21000 to 21435 to have a hope of being saved in that area.

You are correct sir. I read two different tutorials on item creation and editing, neither one of them said anything about the vnum of the item being created being in the vnum range of the area it's being created in. Thanks for the help.
