I can't find any evidence of the F6 or Ctrl-F6 keys being used by MUSHclient (or Windows), but the Macros window doesnt' allow them for macros
Ctrl-F4 isn't available either, but Windows uses that for "End Program" so that makes sense :)

F6 and Ctrl-F6 are reserved for "next pane", "previous pane" which are standard Windows functions (I think).
This is an incorrect assumption. In many programs you are right, but F6 in Opera as an example is 'Tile Windows'. There is no 'standard' function for these keys under windows, since there is no non-program specific functions of the OS that are controlled by them. Unless you have a program open that uses panes and that program has focus windows doesn't really care. It is merely an interface decision whether you want it to have that standard function or not and in the case of MUSHClient there is no practical need for it, since there are no 'panes' to switch between. Now if MUSHClient was designed to catch those keys even when it didn't have focus, then it would be an entirely different situation.

I'll look at freeing up that functionality when I do the "map any key to any function" enhancement.

I don't know about the any key thing, but F6, Ctrl-F6 is pretty much a standard in applications... They don't HAVE to be mapped to it, but they are because it's just the norm... Anyway, it's irrelevant :p
