If you are interested, I wrote some components for a C++ mapper a little while ago, because frankly, I was bored. I wrote the in-memory data representation bits, pathing, improved Nick's database layout (which isn't really normalized perfectly Nick :P , not that I should complain) and started (not finished) porting a layout engine I worked on a little earlier (http://www.gammon.com.au/forum/bbshowpost.php?bbsubject_id=10273) to C++.

If you'd like me to send it to you, send me your email to 0kyh6j6e1d3k9w6@jetable.org, and maybe you can use it for ideas with that horror called VBscript!
