I'm not sure if I've enabled or disabled some option, so I can't really know for sure if it's on my side or the client.

The problem is that all the text following the < character sent to the world simply disappears. As shown in the quote.

say I <3 you I send this...
You say, "I......and this is what I get

It should come out as You say, "I <3 you."

So, what's the problem here? I can't find that I use the < key for anything, not in any setting/alias/macro/timer/variable/trigger.

There have been lengthy discussions about this in the past, see this post for example:

The short answer is that you (or your MUD) have turned MXP on, and MUSHclient is processing < followed by something as an MXP tag.

Possible options are:

  • Turn MXP off (see MUSHclient world configuration, MXP/Pueblo tab)
  • Contact the MUD admins and discuss the possibility that they implement MXP correctly (good luck)
  • Use the small plugin described on that page which may help fix the problem.

Did Zugg ever get back to you one trying to make some agreement about what is the "right" behaviour for this?

Seriously, unless he does eventually, you might have to just sigh, shrug your shoulders and add, "Mimic zMud", as an MXP mode option. :( Its not like it would be the only instance in computer history where supporting the broken version was necessary, because nearly everyone was using a broken implimentation.

Not that I recall.
