Ok, lemme put this this way. Area Editor crashes/freezes, and won't read skills.dat or the other .dat files from what I've seen. I'm trying to run it under Wine (insert long number here). I'm using dial-up, and to get Wine 0.9.x, I need a library that can only be aquired along with the 40+Mb GCC (which may be a good thing to get anyways). Anyways, I also have net troubles (bad net card and sucky net provider), so the farthest I've gotten with it has been about 50%. Any hints?

Oooooooooold version of Wine
the new Area Editor (ty btw for making it freeware Nick :). Didn't have the spare money to buy it, and if I can get it to work I'll be happy)

I think thats all that needs to be known atm. I've got the new Wine downloaded, so if there is another way to get the library (I think its libstdc++.so.6, so if anyone can help...)

Unlikely to get the libstdc++ without going through the gcc install. So you may as well bite the bullet and go get it.

You already identified your main problem - Old Wine.

I thought that might be a problem, but was unsure if it may have been another issue. I've got GCC d/ling atm, so hopefully I'll get it done and installed and all that. Thanks tho
