Guide?

Where the heck is the guide to this program? The Help file is woefully incomplete and makes me want to kill myself. No where on this site have i been able to find a link to or anything remotely resembling a program guide on this website. The Area Editor is great except for the small fact that it needs programs to make areas look good and completely glosses over that it has programming ability. It was by random chance that I found how to make programs.

Basically I would like at the very least a push in the direction of a guide for this.

P.S. I am pretty good at C but the arguements and say_prog fields make no sense and I have no idea what variables this uses

A guide to the program, or a guide to Smaug building? I really don't think the program needs a guide. If you're looking for a guide to building, here's one:

The presumption with the Area Editor was that you have a copy of SMAUG and are reasonably familiar with using it. It simplifies the building interface somewhat. In the SMAUG distribution is extensive documentation for MUD programs, see the file <smaug distribution>/doc/mudprogs/DOC which describes the syntax of the programs in some detail.

You know, if we're honest about it, even that documentation could use some help, and what's available in the stock online help files is not much toward that. :( (Given that most builders (those typically writing these progs) don't usually have access to the file Nick's referring to, and all they have are the online helps...)

Documenting how SMAUG works is a bit outside the scope of what the Area Editor tried to do. You can always send a copy of that documentation (the SMAUG stuff) to your builders.

Fair enough.
