Some questions about Chat

I have just discovered a need to use the chat function that is a plugin.

So far all the functions seem to work just how I need but I was wondering if there is a method to make chatting a little more user-friendly. Currently I have to go into the chat session and hit the button to chat/send a file.

I was wondering if there is an easy method (without creating a whole wonderland of aliases) of chatting from the input box on the main screen or even better, have the chat window appear much like the notepad or a world file?

If there is an documented way that I have missed (or even an undocumented), it would greatly help if someone pointed me in the right direction of how to do it.

If you have installed the plugin, type:

chat:help

The chat plugin comes with a heap of aliases so you can use the chat functionality from the command window. eg.

#chat nick hi there
#chatall hello everyone!
#emote nick sighs
#emoteall laughs
