Activity Toolbar buttons turning red

When MUSHclient is not the window in the foreground but is still visible, I find that the button on the Activity Toolbar for the current world will turn red if something happens in it.

I keep getting confused by this because I think I need to click the red button in order to see what happened in the world (even though it's the currently visible world), but without putting MUSHclient in the foreground first I can't tell.

Is there a way to change this behavior?

I'm not sure a program can tell if it is "at the front".

At present the test is, if the world window is not at the front, the button is red. Even if the world window is at the front (for MUSHclient) but MUSHclient is not at the front (of the other programs) then it passes the test and the button is red.

Whether its window is visible, you mean? Well, if the MUSHclient window is not visible, then it doesn't matter what it's displaying.

Hmm. I'm guessing the red thing (where the currently displayed world in MUSHclient will turn red) is useful to people who keep the MUSHclient window partially visible, so that only the Activity Toolbar is visible. But if I have the entire MUSHclient window visible, then the red thing is misleading.

No, "at the front" has a more specific meaning. Basically it means "the window with the focus". ie. it its title bar is blue (not grey) if you are using standard colours.

Whether or not it is visible is irrelevant to the test. For instance, you could drag the window right to the very side of the screen where it is barely visible, but it would still be at the front.

On the other hand, you could have lots of applications with small windows, all positioned in different places, but only one of them will be "at the front".
