After reading http://www.gammon.com.au/forum/?id=9280 , I was wondering if there was a way to make buttons that didn't involve any pictures, but instead have just a word, of course the world would be a differing color than the background I would want for the button. Any suggestions are welcome

Sure. With miniwindows, the hotspot (the clickable area) is separate from the button (the part you see). You can draw anything you want, and create a hotspot over whatever you want. To create a text button, you'd simply draw the text, then create a hotspot over that text.
