Off the top of my head, the only thing that comes to mind is Virtual PC. The performance will probably suck though, I'm not sure how well VPC is running these days.

MUSHclient isn't exactly a super high-speed 3d first person shooter. I think a program such as VirtualPC won't be all that bad. Maybe it'd be like using zMUD on a PC. :-)

Out of which, Bochs is free. I haven't actually used any of them, but I did look around on the site a little. Didn't see any benchmarks, but I probably wasn't looking in the right places.

Well, my only experience with VPC wasn't a good one. Took 30 seconds just to open the C drive. I've heard it's improved greatly, but *shrug*...

I had Virtual PC going OK on my Mac under OS/X until they upgraded OS/X and it didn't work any more. Meanwhile Microsoft took over Virtual PC and I would have had to buy a new copy to "upgrade" to the "improved" version, to get back the functionality I already had.

I didn't do that, so I can't speak about the current version. However it worked pretty well under the older version.

I have now successfully installed MUSHclient on an Intel Mac running Parallels (http://www.parallels.com/), however this is a bit of a fudge in a way, because by using Parallels (or Boot Camp) you are really just running Windows on an Intel processor (albeit in a Mac box).

If you don't have Virtual PC, Parallels, or Boot Camp, then the "downloaders" problem is the least of your worries, because it won't run anyway - the program is written for Windows, not a Mac.
