Ok, Im figuring this is a code based issue so I will put it here. I previously ran the win-binary and this worked perfectly at booting the connection. I am now running DAWN1.69q and for some reason when anyone types quit it just shows "Alas, all good things must come to an end."
but it doesnt cause the connection to break and bring up the reconnect box. When I look at the running server it gets to closing descriptor 9 and then hangs. It doesnt stop others logging on it just stops people from logging off properly.
Any help?

Remus
p.s. this also happens even with telnet

Does the win32 version of the code downloadable from the dawn website have this problem?

The Win32 version does not suffer this same problem.
I have now tried it with a variety of mud clients including telnet and have had the same issues with the port not closing at log off.

Even if someone types quit they stay and remain linkdead.

I have also downloaded the src once again and tried it but it shows the same problem even with totally unedited src.

Besides this little bug and dousing flasks that wont get water(<--Flask is probably me:) everything else works fine!

Regards

Sounds like a problem with the way that the TCP/IP routines are handling a close.

Try upgrading to the latest Cygwin, if you haven't already.
