Hey, sorry if this is in the wrong forum or if this is a frequently asked question that I just didn't spot, but I could use some help. I've been using MUSHclient for roughly two years and haven't messed with any programming or triggers, etc. I just use it to connect to various MUDs. Two examples of what I connect to are included below:

http://forum.parallelrpi.com/portal.php
http://www.armageddon.org/

However, this problem happens to any world/MUD that I connect to. After 2-3 minutes of letting my client idle (not entering any commands) the MUD/world will freeze. If I enter a command during this period, it will disconnect me from the world. The world tab itself won't close, but it will nonetheless disconnect. I then have to close the tab, open the world, etc. to connect once again. Note, say someone is in the same room with me in 'example' MUD and actively typing messages that I see, then I can idle without entering any messages of my own. When my client isn't actively receiving any messages whatsoever is when the world seems to freeze and disconnect. So when I'm completely alone I have to enter 'blank' messages to 'bump' my client and prevent it from disconnecting, which is getting annoying after two years. It makes afking for 5 minutes along impossible. I understand that this probably doesn't deal MUSHclient itself but I would appreciate some help either way.

Cheers.

Set a timer to send a blank line to the server once per minute.

The client itself doesn't disconnect. I often have it running for days at a time. However some routers seem to have a habit of it.

One approach (apart from what Fiendish said) is to set the "Send keep-alives" option. You can use the config_option_changer plugin to do that:

Try searching this forum for "disconnect". There are a few posts about it.
