| Firewalls usually block on the outgoing port (the one you are connecting to) rather than the local port, because web browsers and most other software is likely to choose an arbitrary figure for the local port.
I'm not even sure how to tell the software how to restrict its port choice for the local port, if anyone has any ideas I would be interested to hear them. |
